Service Terms and Conditions

PAYMENT 
We require payment for the entire period of service (cash or check) to be left for us at your home. This keeps bookkeeping costs low so we can keep fees low. 

ORDERING AND CONFIRMING SERVICE 
It is vital we confirm dates and times of service with you prior to the beginning of each service. We will not service a client by voicemail, text, or email. We must speak directly with you. If we have not reconfirmed, do not assume service is set. 

FREQUENCY OF VISITS
We will provide as many visits in a day that you require. We will NOT provide less than a visit each 24 hours for cats. A cat needs this, as they could become ill or separated from food and water. 48 or more unsupervised hours can cause a great deal of problems and endanger their health. This also applies to small animals and birds. 

NOTIFICATION OF YOUR RETURN 
It is your responsibility to contact us upon your return, if we don’t hear from you, the sitter will continue to make visits until otherwise informed and charges will apply. You may call the office 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  

KEYS
We require a key be kept on file (in our secure office safe). If you choose to have keys returned, there is a $10 charge each one way trip. 

FOOD/SUPPLIES
If a shortage of food or medication occurs, there will be a shopping charge of $30/hour to resupply. We will inform you of the item cost as well and provide receipts.  

EMERGENCY CONTACT
Be sure to inform your contact person, veterinarian, and any cleaning/maintenance service of your absence. 

PET ILLNESSES AND MEDICATION 
Changes or additions to medications MUST be discussed before your absence. This is for your pet’s well being. 

SECURITY AND VISITORS
Our policy is that, upon entry to your home, if we find any disturbance or unauthorized persons present, we will immediately leave and call police. We do NOT allow “shared sitting” with anyone not a resident of your home, due to insurance policies. It is very helpful to inform alarm companies of plans to have a sitter. 

SERVICE AIDS FOR YOUR SITTER
It is very appreciated to have food and supplies in a central location. Please leave paper towels, broom, dustpan, sponges and other cleaning supplies where they can be easily located. If possible put indoor plants in one location and leave watering instructions. 

RATE CHANGES
Prices are subject to change for future service. Rates are very infrequently raised and every effort will be made to notify you. A rate schedule is available on our website. 

RETURNED CHECKS
A returned check for any reason will incur a $25 charge. 

DISCLAIMER STATEMENT
Damage to household furniture, rugs, etc that were not caused by the sitter will not be our responsibility. Also, if pets soil your rugs, for example, the area will only be cleaned by us if discussed in advance. 

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding. It is our desire to provide excellent service to you and, most importantly, to your pet family members. Do not hesitate to call with questions or concerns. 

Speaking by telephone is much preferred rather than texts or emails. This ensures there will be no misunderstandings in the care of your precious pets.
